Day 35 on the Continental Divide Trail

What an ideal zero day. The rain predicted for today arrived this morning (see photo). Aside from the hail storm the day I left Grants, this was the first rainfall event of the trip. I’m grateful to be in town rather than hiking in the rain or snow. I bought food for the 70-mile hike to Wolf Creek Pass with Bruce. For dinner, I cooked a veggie stir fry with part of the roasted chicken I bought yesterday. During the day, I soaked my left foot and applied hot salty compresses to cuts on my left knee. Hopefully, my feet will be happy when I resume hiking tomorrow afternoon. The weather forecast for Pagosa Springs for the next 8 days looks great.
